Piaggio India’s onslaught of premium motorcycle launches in India continues with the Moto Guzzi brand. Following the launch of the Aprilia RS 660 and the Tuono 660, Piaggio has now launched the Moto Guzzi V85TT. The V85TT addresses the premium adventure segment with its rugged retro-classic design and all-terrain abilities.
Currently, the adventure motorcycle segment is booming in India and the new V85TT will help Piaggio gain traction in the segment. The Moto Guzzi V85TT comes with a price tag of INR 15.4 lakh ex-showroom. This makes the new version approximately INR 3 lakh dearer than the outgoing model. The new motorcycle also complies with the latest Euro5/BS6 emission standards.
Moto Guzzi V85TT – Design Highlights
The Moto Guzzi V85TT comes with a twin rounded headlamp joined by the free-flying eagle. The motorcycle comes with a high mount front fender and a tall windscreen with a double bubble that protects the rider from wind and weather. The motorcycle gets a muscular fuel tank and a large seat. The bike also comes with a large tail section with luggage mounting brackets integrated with a grabrail for the pillion. But the piece de resistance is the transversely mounted V-twin engine. The bike also comes with a two-into-one high mount exhaust and a silver bash plate to protect the bike’s engine and exhaust.
Moto Guzzi V85TT – Engine Specifications
The V85TT comes with an 853cc Transversal 90-degree V-twin engine. The engine comes with two valves per cylinder with a titanium intake and an OHC valve distribution system. The air-cooled engine produces 75 Hp of power and 81 Nm of torque. The engine is paired to a 6-speed transmission with a shaft drive.
Moto Guzzi V85TT – Mechanical Specification and Electronics
The Moto Guzzi V85TT comes with 41mm upside-down hydraulic telescopic forks with preload adjustment on the front. The rear features a lateral monoshock on a double-sided swingarm. Braking power comes from a 320mm twin-disc on the front and a 260mm rear disc with hydraulic callipers. The bike rides on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear cross-spoke wheels with tubeless tyres. The Moto Guzzi V85TT comes with all-LED lights, an LCD dashboard, MGCT (Moto Guzzi Traction Control), and a dual-channel ABS as standard.
