Mahindra has launched the all-new Bolero Neo with Ceat as the OEM tyre provider for the SUV. The new Bolero Neo will get the Czar Hp range of tyres, with tyre size as 217/75R15. Ceat mentioned that this set of high-performance tyres would provide outstanding grip and comfort at all speeds. The unique interconnected grooves along with optimised sequence tread block pattern will deliver much better vehicle stability and higher fuel efficiency. Ceat also claims that these tyres will match the performance of the Bolero.
Mahindra Bolero Neo: Engine And Mechanicals
The latest SUV from Mahindra gets a 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbo diesel engine. The engine’s performance figure stands at 100 BHP of power and 260 Nm of torque. Mahindra is offering a 5-speed manual gearbox with this system. There’s no automatic transmission on the offer. This is a rear-wheel-drive vehicle, and thus there’s no AWD drivetrain either. But, Mahindra has confirmed that they will launch the Bolero Neo N10 variant, which will come with Multi-Terrain Technology. This is the same as the one present in Mahindra Thar.
Price And Competition
Bolero has been one of the most successful products from Mahindra. And interestingly, it is also the country’s best-selling SUV of all time, having sold over 1.3 million units since it was first launched in 2000. The SUV is very popular in both commercial and passenger markets alike. One of the main reasons for Bolero’s popularity has been its value for money proposition coupled with top-notch reliability. And this Bolero Neo will also try to replicate the same.
Although, the latest one is more of a renamed TUV 300, which was a flop in Mahindra’s stable. But, with the nameplate of Bolero, this SUV will indeed find a lot more customers. Mahindra is positioning the new Bolero Neo as a more premium offering than the regular version. The sticker price of the Bolero Neo is set at INR 8.48 lakhs (ex-showroom), and with no direct competitors in this segment, Mahindra will find it easy to sell this vehicle.
