Nissan confirms that the Made-in-India made for the world Nissan Magnite which scored 4-stars for safety at the ASEAN NCAP, a new car assessment program for the South East Asian countries has the same specification as the Indian-spec model assuring its customers that the Indonesian-spec car has the same safety specification as the Magnite sold in the Indian market. The brand further explains that it is in line with the company’s commitment to safety towards its customers in India.
Safety Equipment as Standard Part of the Pack
Nissan exports the made in India Magnite to the Indonesian market and under evaluation by the ASEAN NCAP agency. The Magnite for the crash test came with seatbelts, retractor pre-tensioner & load limiter for both the driver and front passenger, front airbags, seatbelt reminder for both the driver and front passenger, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Stability Control (ESC). The car is also equipped with ISOFIX child seat anchorages, all as standard.
ASEAN NCAP Crash Test Report
According to the ASEAN NCAP, the Nissan Magnite scores 12.87 points in the Frontal Offset Test, 15.22 points in the Side Impact Test, but 0 points for the Head Protection Technology Evaluation, scoring a total of 28.09 points out of 36.00 points in the Adult Occupant Protection department. The car also scores a total of 11.00 points out of 18.00 for Safety Assist systems. In the Child Occupant Protection department, the 3-year-old child dummy uses a Maxi Cosi Milofix CRS installed in the forward-facing position with ISOFIX and top tether scoring 8.00 points and the 18th-month-old child dummy uses a Britax Baby-Safe Plus SHR II Child Restraint System (CRS) in the rearward facing position installed using ISOFIX points and a support leg, leading to a score of 7.81 points.
5-Stars for Adults
According to the ASEAN NCAP reports the Magnite’s high score in the Adult Occupant Protection department leads to a full 5-stars for Adult Occupant Protection, 4-stars for Child Occupant Protection and 5-stars for Safety Assist taking the total overall star rating to 4-Stars.
