Orxa Energy, an emerging EV maker in the country, posted a milestone achieved by its electric motorcycle, Mantis. As the company, two Mantis completed a distance of 7,000 km as part of the Electric BharatMala initiative. This is halfway through the world record attempt of 14000+ km that they are targeting.
Moreover, this is also the first time that seven start-ups have come together to build an Electric Vehicle (EV) ecosystem. This will help address the roadblocks in India’s journey, thus ensuring a seamless shift to electric mobility. Currently, the group of riders that includes an Orxa team member arrived in Gorakhpur on their motorcycles. And from here, they are planning to head towards Dehradun and continue their journey north towards Jammu.
What Is The Orxa Mantis?
Dubbed as being the flagship all-electric performance-oriented motorcycle, this motorcycle is built by bikers, for bikers. The motorcycle has the capability to clinch a top speed of 135 kmph. In terms of acceleration, Orxa mentioned that Mantis can go from a standstill to 100 kmph in under 10 seconds. Taking care of the range is the segment’s best 9 kWh battery.
With this, Mantis promises a real-world range of 200 km per charge in the city and about 150 km on a single charge at highway speeds. Orxa confirmed that these values have already been validated on this ride. Over 7,000 km, these two Mantis have covered some diverse terrains. This includes 40+ degree celsius weather, steep hill inclines, highway speeds, off-road, rain and other conditions.
