China-based electric car manufacturer BYD has some big news for the Indian market. The EV maker has delivered 700 units of Atto 3, its first electric SUV in India. This has been received just within the first two months since its launch. Launched in November last year the electric SUV garnered significant attention and interest among buyers. In fact, it had clocked 2,000 thousand bookings within the first month itself.

The Atto 3 is the second EV offering from BYD for the Indian market. The first product was the e6, the three-row electric MPV. The Atto 3 rivals the likes of the Hyundai Kona, and MG ZS EV among others in the Indian market. To further spice up things, BYD had also announced a Limited Edition version of the electric SUV during the Auto Expo earlier this year. This edition came wrapped in Forest Green shade and retailed with a price tag of INR 34.49 lakh (ex-showroom).

Encouraging Milestone For BYD India

This milestone for BYD in India speaks volumes of how people have accepted the brand. The brand remains confident that more and more customers will choose its premium electric SUV. As it stands, Atto 3 is one of the most popular and best-selling models from BYD across the world. The electric carmaker has retailed more than 2.5 lakh units of the electric SUV in just 11 months since its launch in various countries and regions. In January itself, BYD retailed a total of over 23,231 units of Atto 3 globally.
