We all knew that a 7-seater version of the Tata Harrier has been in development. Now, the brand has officially released a teaser image of this H7X SUV which will make a debut at the upcoming 2019 Geneva Motor Show next month. The H7X will be bigger than the Harrier, but not as big as the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour & Mahindra Alturas G4. Ideally, the Tata H7X will be more of a rival to the Mahindra XUV500.
The H7X will not use the Harrier name. Next month, the H7X is most likely to get an official product name and this new SUV is expected to make a debut in India sometime in 2020. The H7X will be 62mm extended in its length compared to the Harrier. While 62mm might not sound too much, the Harrier already has a big boot area, which can be easily used along with this extended length to accommodate the 3rd row seats.
The teaser image reveals that the H7X will be heavily restyled, and doesn’t look too similar to the Harrier which is already on sale. The rear profile looks more upright and flat in comparison to the Harrier, and is more in sync with the SUV DNA. The H7X is expected to get 3-row air-conditioning, 18″ rims, leather upholstery, digital instrument console, floating touchscreen infotainment, automatic climate control, amd more…
The Tata H7X will also have a more powerful engine compared to the Harrier. Rumours suggest that the same 2.0L Kryotec diesel engine on the H7X will deliver close to 170 HP of power and will be matched to a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
Compared to the Harrier, we expect the H7X to demand a premium of at least INR 2 lakh.
