650cc Moto Morini Cruiser could arrive in India to rival Super Meteor 650

Moto Morini is working on a 650cc cruiser. According to a design patent, the new cruiser bike will join the existing two models using the same 649cc parallel twin. This bike is expected to rival the Royal Enfield Super Meteor.

New Details about the Moto Morini 650cc Cruiser

The design of the bike is of a typical cruiser motorcycle. It gets a sloping front end, which swoops from the headstock, across the fuel tank and culminates at the rider’s seat. The bike als gets a small cowl for the headlight, a flyscreen and bar end mirrors.

Unlike the curvy fuel tanks of most cruisers, Moto Morini has opted for a more square tank design. Also note the radiator shroud, which is larger than the radiator itself.

The bike gets a new double cradle chassis along with a telescopic fork suspension at the front and twin shocks at the back. This is unlike the upside-down suspension and the mono shock setup of the other 650cc bikes.

The engine is the same one used on the Seiemmezzo and X-Cape bikes. That said, the chassis of the bike is all-new. This engine develops 60 HP along with 54 Nm of peak torque. This makes the bike as powerful as a Kawasaki Vulcan S. The engine has been sourced from CFMoto, which is very similar to the Kawasaki unit.

Launch timelines of the 650cc Moto Morini Cruiser

The design patent is usually filed when the production is about to commence. Hence we can speculate that the bike will be set for production soon. While it is not yet clear when the bike would be sold in India, it is expected to join the other three 650cc models and fight it out with the Super Meteor 650.
