One of the country’s largest commercial vehicles manufacturer, Tata Motors announced that the brand has procured an order of 6,413 vehicles from the Andhra Pradesh State Civil Supplies Corporation. The brand has secured the order for it much-popular mini truck the Tata Ace Gold. Tata will furnish fully built Tata Ace Gold light commercial vehicles to the State Civil Supplies Corporation to be used as mobile dispensing units for the doorstep delivery of supplies in the state of Andhra Pradesh.
Tata Motors emerged as the top bidder, as per the terms and conditions of the government body. The e-bidding process was carried out through the Government e-Marketplace. According to the brand, the Tata Ace Gold was preferred for its reliability, low maintenance, endurance, versatility and its value-for-money. Furthermore, Tata Motors will be customising the mini truck to better suit the application it intends to be used in.
Tata Motors launched the ACE marque back in 2005 and the brand has now celebrated the 15th anniversary of the Tata Ace which has remained popular in its segment, throughout the period. The brand has sold more than 22 lakh units of the popular mini truck till date and the latest version which is now sold with a BS6 compliant powertrain is offered in Petrol, Diesel and CNG options to cater a wide range of audience.
The Tata Ace Gold is powered by a BS6 compliant Tata 275 Gasoline MPFI 4 stroke water-cooled engine that produces 29.5 Hp of power and 55 Nm of torque. The Ace Gold Diesel comes with a 700cc 2-cylinder naturally-aspirated diesel engine that produces 19 Hp of power and 45 Nm of torque. The Ace Gold CNG comes with a 694cc water-cooled, multipoint gas injection CNG engine that produces 26 Hp of power and 51 Nm of torque.
Recently Tata Motors also announced that the brand has recorded the total commercial vehicle (CV) sales of 24,910 units in September 2020 when compared to the same period last year the brand made sales of 28,079 units.
