5th-gen Mercedes-Benz C-Class production begins in India

Mercedes-Benz India announces the commencement of production of the 5th-generation C-Class in India. The new C-Class will roll out of the production line from the brand’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Chakan, Pune. The 5th-generation C-Class will launch on 10th May 2022. The new C-Class is also lovingly known as the ‘Baby S’ (Class).

The C-Class is an essential pillar in Mercedes-Benz’s sedan portfolio. The C-Class was first launched in India in 2001. Since then, Mercedes-Benz India says there are more than 37,000 C-Class on Indian roads.

The 5th-generation of the C-Class is the most advanced one. The new-generation model will raise the bar in the segment in terms of design, technology and comfort. In India, the new C-Class will be available in three variants – C200, C200d and the range-topping C300d.

5th-gen Mercedes-Benz C-Class – Bookings Open in India

Till 30th April 2022, only existing Mercedes-Benz customers will be able to book the new C-Class, honouring their loyalty for the car. From 1st May 2022, other interested customers will be able to book the C-Class by paying an amount of INR 50,000. Interested customers can visit the nearest Mercedes-Benz dealership for booking enquiries. The 5th-gen C-Class will also be available digitally at the brand’s online store.

5th-gen Mercedes-Benz C-Class – Top Features

The 5th-generation C-Class will likely feature a new dashboard with new air-conditioning vents. The car will also use an S-Class inspired portrait touchscreen infotainment system. The infotainment screen will be 11.9-inch in size. The latest MBUX voice-assistance system will also be present in the car. The digital instrument cluster will draw inspiration from the S-Class and be 12.3-inch in size. The luxury sedan will also get a new steering wheel with touch-sensitive controls. The 5th-generation C-Class will be 6.5cm longer and have a 2.5cm longer wheelbase to offer additional interior space.
