4-door Mercedes-Benz CLS coupe gets a facelift, 2021 model revealed

Mercedes-Benz, reveals the 2021 CLS facelift with noticeable styling tweaks and a new 2.0-litre diesel powertrain with 48V mild-hybrid tech. The AMG version of the CLS 53 will come in as a limited-run special edition.

Changes In The 2021 Mercedes-Benz CLS

Last year, the German car manufacturer updated the driver assistance and infotainment system, thus the changes done to the 2021 facelift involve mostly the design tweaks. Of all the design changes, the new CLS’s revised bumpers and revamped grille will grab the maximum attention. Mercedes-Benz is also offering a new set of alloys and a new exterior paint shade which is the Spectral Blue Metallic. Avantgarde, the base trim of CLS, gets a revised front bumper along with a contrasting chrome-finished splitter meanwhile in the rear, there’s an addition of a black diffuser in the rear as well. The performance-spec AMG trim will get air intakes, black trim and a lip spoiler which enhances the sporty outlook of the car. The new 19-inch set of alloys is now available across the range meanwhile, the 20-inch rims get new colour options.

CLS 53 AMG Limited Only To 300 Units

The CLS 53, which is the AMG trim gets a reworked AMG grille and bumpers and now the customers will also have two new Night Package options to choose from, which gets aluminium finishes near the windscreen instead of black, darkened chrome for the front grille and a rear badging. In the interiors, there are new trim options that use additional leather and a new sterling wheel design. The centre console will also have a choice of wood finishes meanwhile the leather seats will have new updated colours to choose from.

The New CLS 300d mild-hybrid

To the lineup of CLS, there is this latest new addition in form of the 300d mild-hybrid. This trim gets a 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine along with a 48V integrated starter-generator which gives an additional output of 20 HP and 200 Nm. There’s still no certainty but, there are high chances that the new CLS will hit the Indian market sometime in near future.
