TVS Motor Company has been spotted testing a new 300cc adventure motorcycle on the outskirts of Bengaluru. This new model is expected to hit the Indian market in early 2025, aiming to cater to adventure enthusiasts. The motorcycle could be called the Apache RTX 300.
Design and Features
The spy shots reveal a rugged and robust design, typical of adventure motorcycles. The new TVS model features a high-mounted front beak, long-travel suspension, and alloy wheels, indicating its touring and off-roading capabilities. The bike also comes with knobby tyres, ideal for tackling rough terrains. The test mule was equipped with dual-purpose tires and a large windscreen for added protection during long rides.
Performance
The upcoming TVS adventure motorcycle is expected to be powered by a 300cc single-cylinder engine. This could be the new TVS RTX-D4 engine that was showcased at MotoSoul 4.0. This engine produces 35 PS and 28.5 Nm of torque. The bike is likely to feature a six-speed gearbox with slip and assist clutch.
Advanced Features
The new TVS adventure bike is expected to come with modern features like LED headlamps, digital instrument cluster, and multiple riding modes. These enhancements aim to provide a superior riding experience both on and off the road. The inclusion of ABS and switchable traction control will further enhance the bike’s safety and handling.
Competition
The 300cc adventure segment in India is growing, with several manufacturers eyeing this market. TVS’s new offering will compete with models like the Royal Enfield Himalayan, KTM 390 Adventure, and BMW G 310 GS. We expect TVS to price the motorcycle aggressively. It could probably be the most affordable motorcycle in the segment undercutting the G 310 GS.
Our Thoughts
An adventure motorcycle has been a long time coming from TVS. We are happy to finally see a production model being tested. The adventure segment has a huge growth potential and TVS will be able to get a big chunk of the pie if the bike is priced right. We expect to see it being unveiled at the upcoming Bharat Mobility Expo.
