A motorcycle which many love has made a comeback. The Triumph Rocket 3 R model has been launched in India priced at INR 18 lakh ex-showroom. This has a big 2500cc engine and there are very few motorcycles on sale as this one here in India. In terms of rivals, one can consider the Ducati Diavle 1260, but then, the Italian rival has almost half the engine size.
Powering the Triumph Rocket 3 R is a 2458cc, in-line 3-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC motor producing 165 BHP of power @ 6000 RPM and 221 Nm of torque @ 4000 RPM matched to a 6-speed gearbox. The bike gets a shaft drive and also benefits from fuel-injection and ride-by-wire. The Rocket 3 R comes with 3×1 headers with 3 end cans. The bike also has a torque assist clutch, for obvious reasons. The Triumph Rocket 3 R measures 1677mm in wheelbase, 773mm at seat height, has tank capacity of 18L and weighs a massive 291 kg.
The new Rocket 3 R has been built around an alumimium chassis with a single-sided cast aluminium swingarm. The bike gets 47mm USD Showa front forks adjustable for compression and rebound with 120mm travel and a fully adjustable rear Showa monoshock with 107mm travel. Top quality brakes with Brembo Stylema at the front and 320mm dual discs while at the rear you have a 300mm disc. Yes, the bike gets a dual-channel ABS with cornering ABS as well.
Other equipment includes LED headlamp with DRLs, LED tail lamp, alloy wheels, bar end mirrors, small front fly screen, centre-set foot pegs, split seat setup, forged levers, LED turn indicators, digital speedometer, etc.
