Maruti Suzuki has revealed that the Manesar manufacturing facility has crossed the 25 lakh production milestone. The product which marked this milestone was a Maruti Swift ZXi which was rolled out of the Manesar B plant.
This facility has a total annual production capacity of 8,00,000 units and is spread over 600 acres of land divided into A, B and C plants. This facility also includes the diesel engine manufacturing. Maruti has achieved this milestone in 7 years and 8 months which should probably be the fastest by any car manufacturing unit in India.
At this facility, Maruti commissioned a 1 megawatt mono-crystalline photovoltaic solar power setup which helps reduce CO2 emissions up to 1,200 tonnes annually.
