22KYMCO, a joint venture between 22Motors and Kwang Yang Motor Company (KYMCO) have announced setting up their manufacturing factory in Bhiwadi, Haryana. The joint venture was set in 2018 and 22KYMCO will manufacture both electric and internal combustion engine vehicles. The manufacturing facility will have a production capacity of 200,000 unit per year and will be producing the iFlow, Like200 and the X-Town300i ABS. The brand will be focusing on New-Delhi, Pune, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Ahmedabad in phase one and expand to 300 touch points across the country within three years.
The brand has unveiled the iFlow electric scooter, the Like200 and the X-Town300i which are the internal combustion engine models. The X-Town300i will be in the maxi scooter segment and the two-wheelers will be available from September 2019 in India.
The iFlow electric scooter will provide with green mobility solutions and will strengthen the brand’s strategy to make space in the emerging e-scooter market. Whereas the Like200 and the X-Town300i ABS, both powered by a gasoline engine, will compete in the conventional two-wheeler market. The two-wheelers are all developed for the Indian road conditions and the company also provides the smart energy system which consists of high-performance batteries and cloud connectivity from IONEX.
The iFlow will be powered by a Bosch Power Train DC motor with a maximum torque of 90 Nm and is connected to a 2100 Watt lithium-ion battery which can provide a range of 160 km using dual batteries. The scooter features regenerative braking and recycles up to 60% of the braking energy to power which is then stored in its batteries. The e-scooter can do a top speed of 60 kmph and the battery can be charged to up to 70% in one hour using a quick charger.
