Hero MotoCorp is working to bring back the iconic Karizma nameplate. This motorcycle will be based on an all-new generation and come with a brand new engine and chassis.

Hero’s new platform for next-gen motorcycle

According to a media report, Hero now has the tools ready to take on the premium bike segment. Thanks to an all-new platform and a brand new engine, the new Karizma will be a good contender in the premium bike space.

Hero is looking at a 210cc engine for the new Karizma. This unit will be liquid cooled and is expected to develop 25 HP and 30 Nm of torque. This engine will be meshed to a 6-speed gearbox.

Further details like the bike’s size, tyres, suspension etc. will be shared by Hero closer to the reveal date.

New Karizma to get design inspiration from older bike

Hero is reviving the Karizma name. Hence the company is also likely to incorporate some design elements and styling cues of the older iconic bike into the reincarnation. The older Karizma got a 223cc fuel injected engine with air cooling. It developed 20 BHP.

Coming to the brand recall, Karizma was a very popular motorcycle. It had one of the highest brand values in the Indian motorcycle space. Many youngsters considered this as an iconic bike and even looked up to owning one someday. However, the facelift in 2014 didn’t get a response as good as the original bike. Hence this led to eventual discontinuation of the Karizma R and ZMR.
