2026 Kia EV9 Unveiled with more range and a new Nightfall Edition
Kia has introduced the 2026 EV9, enhancing its flagship three-row electric SUV with improved range and a sportier Nightfall Edition. The latest model now offers more miles per charge, subtle performance tweaks, and adjusted pricing to stay competitive in the premium EV segment.
More range across the lineup
Kia has optimized the battery management system, resulting in better range across key trims. The Light Long Range variant now delivers 490 km on a full charge, a noticeable bump from the previous 474 km. The Wind and Land trims see an improvement to 450 km, while the GT-Line climbs to 451 km. The SUV retains the 99.8 kWh battery pack for higher trims and a 76.1 kWh unit for the base model, ensuring multiple configurations to suit different buyers.
Nightfall Edition: Adding style and performance
Kia has introduced a Nightfall Edition, exclusively available with the Land trim. This variant features a gloss black skid plate, fascia accents, roof rails, and 20-inch black wheels, adding an aggressive, stealthy look to the EV9. Kia has also thrown in a Boost mode, increasing torque by 100 Nm to 700 Nm, putting it in line with the GT-Line’s performance figures.
Pricing adjustments for 2026
The EV9 lineup sees some pricing refinements to make the SUV a stronger value proposition. The Light Long Range variant is now priced at $59,900, while the base model starts at $54,900. The high-performance GT-Line variant, featuring additional premium tech, sits at $73,900, reflecting a slight increase from the previous year.
Market impact and rivalry
With range upgrades, fresh styling, and smarter pricing, Kia has positioned the EV9 as a viable alternative to the Tesla Model X and Rivian R1S. Built on the E-GMP platform, the SUV continues to offer ultra-fast charging, spacious interiors, and cutting-edge tech, solidifying its place in the premium electric SUV segment.
