Exterior Updates: What’s New?
The fourth-generation Verna, launched in March 2023, is due for a mid-cycle refresh. The spy shots suggest that Hyundai will retain the connected LED taillight design, but the front fascia may see subtle refinements. The bumper design could be reworked, and Hyundai might remove fog lamps, following a trend seen in its recent updates.
The alloy wheels appear unchanged, but Hyundai could introduce new designs closer to launch. The shark fin antenna, chrome accents, and conventional door handles remain intact, ensuring the Verna’s premium appeal.
Interior and feature upgrades
Hyundai is expected to enhance the cabin experience, adding a larger infotainment touchscreen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and ventilated front and rear seats. Other possible upgrades include a rear wireless phone charger, reclining rear seats, Hyundai’s Digital Key, and rear window shades.
Powertrain and expected launch
The 2026 Verna facelift is likely to retain its current engine lineup, featuring a 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 1.5L turbo-petrol engine. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual, CVT, and 7-speed DCT, ensuring a balance of performance and efficiency.
Hyundai is expected to launch the updated Verna around the festive season of 2025, positioning it against Volkswagen Virtus, Skoda Slavia, and Honda City.
