The newly launched Alto facelift gets a minor exterior upgrade. It now features a new front bumper and a new rear bumper with a more rounded shape. Additionally, a new roof-integrated spoiler has also been added for a better outlook.
The Kei car is now available with a new exterior paint called Terracotta Pink. Moreover, buyers can now opt for a two-tone colour option with the roof and ORVMs painted in 4 dual-tone options.
Meanwhile, the front bumper housing with the AEB (automatic emergency braking) radar gets a new housing design.
On the inside, it now gets the 7-inch touchscreen option with the Suzuki Connect App supporting features like Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Additionally, it gets low-speed brake (front and reverse support), lane departure warning/assist, front collision avoidance assist with automatic braking, parking sensors, and ABS.
Powering the new Alto is the same 658cc, inline-three cylinder engine as the earlier model. It produces 46 bhp/55 Nm in its pure petrol guise, while the Hybrid version with the 48V setup delivers 48bhp/58 Nm. Both options are mated to a CVT gearbox.
Customers can opt for an optional all-wheel drive configuration with the hybrid engine option. The claimed fuel efficiency of the FWD Hybrid model is 28.2 km/l, which is class-leading.
Our verdict
The new Alto not only offers the additional safety of the ADAS, but it is more economical than ever with its class-best fuel economy. Additionally, its spacious cabin and small dimensions are a perfect fit for the Japanese roads.
