2025 Renault Duster SUV – what to expect?
As visible in the spy shots, the test car is seen using a unique LPG powertrain. It is a 1.2-litre ECO-G engine that has the bi-fuel LPG option as well. Moreover, the car is fitted with a 48-volt MHEV electric motor that powers the rear axle in case of loss of torque.
Renault has equipped it with a dual-clutch automatic transmission, and the peak power output stands at 150 bhp. Mind you, the LPG fuel powertrain is sold in select European markets. While the LPG may not make it to India, the upcoming Duster 4X4 will be powered by a petrol-hybrid motor. This system is similar to the 4Xe drivetrain that is also seen on the Jeep Avenger SUV.
For now, the new Duster is powered by three engine options – a 1.0-litre bi-fuel three-cylinder 100 bhp engine, a 1.2-litre mild-hybrid 130 bhp petrol engine, and a 1.6-litre petrol-hybrid 140 bhp engine. The latter is destined for an Indian debut by late 2026.
The new Duster SUV gets a rugged design appeal with the latest tech like LED lights, sunroof, etc. On the inside, it will feature a floating touchscreen infotainment system, a digital cockpit, a head-up display, auto climate control, leather seats, and more. Safety-wise, it will be equipped with 6 airbags (or more) and ADAS safety features as well.
