2025 Nissan GT-R launched overseas

Written by News Team

Nissan has unveiled its 2025 GT-R models in Japan, bringing back the “Godzilla” of supercars. The launch event took place on March 14, 2024, and the initial sales are planned to start in June. This launch represents the latest evolution of the GT-R R35, which has been Nissan’s flagship super sports car since its debut in 2007.

The New GT-R Models

The 2025 GT-R lineup introduces two exciting editions: the Premium Edition T-spec and the Track Edition engineered by NISMO. Both models incorporate high-precision weight-balanced piston rings, connecting rods, and crankshafts. These enhancements, previously only available in the GT-R NISMO Special Edition, result in snappier revs and faster turbo spooling.

Both models also feature GT-R-exclusive aluminum takumi certification name plates as well as gold-colored model number plates in the engine compartment. The Premium Edition is available with a special new interior color, Blue Heaven.

Powertrain

The 2025 GT-R lineup comes with two engine variants with a common 4-wheel drivetrain and a GR6 dual-clutch transmission. The engine too is the VR38DETT motor. The difference is in the tuning. In its base configuration, the VR38DETT V6 makes 565 hp and 633 Nm of torque. While in the NISMO special tuning, the same V6 makes 600 hp and 652 Nm of torque.
