Maruti Suzuki e Vitara details
India’s biggest car manufacturer, Maruti, showcased the e Vitara earlier this year at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025. While it was planned for a March 2025 launch, the delay in global supply has pushed the launch timeline to later this year.
In fact, some dealerships have already received the showroom-spec cars for customer display and pre-bookings. The spotted car seen here in the spy shots is a similar case. It is a production model that is draped in the beautiful black exterior shade.
Speaking of the details, the e Vitara will be offered with two battery packs in India: 49 kWh and 61 kWh. It will also get the 2WD and 4WD options, and the battery pack, which is supplied by BYD, is likely to offer a 500 km range.
In terms of features, the e Vitara gets a 10.25-inch digital console, a 10.1-inch infotainment screen, a fixed glass sunroof, ambient lights, electric seats with ventilation, a Harman Kardon music system, and more.
Safety-wise, it will offer 7 airbags, Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, and TPMS as standard.
Maruti is likely to position the e Vitara as its flagship model, hence its pricing can be well above Rs 25 lakh for the top-spec model. The expected launch timeline of the e Vitara in India is October 2025.
Our verdict
The e Vitara was supposed to get launched earlier this year. However, due to the supply chain issues caused by the delay in the export of the rare earth materials from China, the company has pushed back the production and launch plans.
