Ahead of its official debut at the EICMA Motorcycle Show in Milan this November, details of the 2025 KTM 390 Adventure series have leaked online, offering a comprehensive look at what to expect from the new lineup.
Variants and Features
The 2025 KTM 390 Adventure will be available in two main variants: the 390 Adventure R and the 390 Adventure X. The Adventure R is designed for off-road enthusiasts, while the Adventure X is more road-biased.
- 390 Adventure R: This variant is equipped with 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wire-spoked wheels with knobby tyres, providing excellent off-road capability. It features adjustable suspension with 230 mm of travel, a 5-inch TFT display, cornering ABS, and traction control. The seat height is set at 885 mm, making it suitable for taller riders.
- 390 Adventure X: The Adventure X variant comes with 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels with road-biased tyyres. It has non-adjustable suspension with 200 mm of travel and an LCD dashboard. The seat height is lower at 825 mm, making it more accessible for a wider range of riders.
Engine and Performance
Both variants are expected to be powered by the same 399cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine found in the current KTM 390 Duke. The engine produces 45 bhp and 39 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox and a bi-directional quick-shifter.
Additional Features
The Adventure R variant will also feature cruise control and a new menu switch for easier navigation of the TFT display. The Adventure X, on the other hand, will have standard ABS without the cornering feature.
Market Positioning
The 2025 KTM 390 Adventure series is set to compete with other adventure motorcycles in the market, such as the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450. The Adventure R is expected to be priced higher due to its advanced features, while the Adventure X will be more affordable.
