Kawasaki has officially launched the 2025 Z900 in India, bringing a host of upgrades to its popular middleweight naked motorcycle. Priced at INR 9.52 lakh (ex-showroom), the latest iteration of the Z900 introduces new electronics, revised styling, and Euro5+ compliance, making it more refined and feature-packed than before.

Performance and mechanical updates

The Z900 retains its 948cc inline-four engine, producing 125 hp and 98.6 Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed gearbox. The bike now features ride-by-wire throttle, enabling cruise control and a bidirectional quickshifter, making highway rides and aggressive downshifts smoother.

Kawasaki has also upgraded the braking system, equipping the Z900 with radially-mounted four-piston Nissin calipers gripping 300mm dual front discs, improving stopping power. The bike now rides on Dunlop Sportmax Q5A tires, replacing the previous Roadsport 2 units, offering better grip and handling.

Electronics and rider aids

The 2025 Z900 gets a new 5-inch Bluetooth-compatible TFT display, borrowed from the Ninja 1100SX, allowing riders to connect their smartphones for navigation and notifications. The bike now features a 5-axis IMU, enhancing its traction control, power modes, and cornering ABS, making it safer and more intuitive to ride.

Design and styling enhancements

Kawasaki has refreshed the Z900’s styling, giving it a new headlight design inspired by the Z500, along with revised frame rails that improve rider ergonomics. The bike is available in two color options—black/green and black/red, maintaining its aggressive streetfighter appeal.

Market position and rivals

The Z900 competes with the Triumph Street Triple R, Honda CB650R, and Ducati Monster, offering one of the best value propositions in the middleweight naked segment. Despite the INR 14,000 price increase, the added electronics and improved braking system make it a compelling upgrade.
