The first and foremost change is the addition of an LCD digital console. The basic-looking console embeds all the necessary information like the speedometer, fuel indicator, distance to empty, and more. Additionally, it now gets new six colour options that include – Pearl Siren Blue, Decent Blue Metallic, Rebel Red Metallic, Matte Axis Gray Metallic, Geny Gray Metallic, and Pearl Igneous Black.
However, the rest of the motorcycle remains unchanged. The bodywork, frame, and engine are all unchanged in the updated model. Honda Shine 125 is powered by a reliable 123.94cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine that generates 10.63 bhp and 11 Nm of peak power and torque. This engine comes mated to a slick 5-speed gearbox for quick shifts. This powertrain is now OBD-2B-compliant as per the latest emission norms.
In terms of hardware, it uses telescopic forks at the front and dual shockers at the rear for suspension duties. For braking, Honda offers a choice of drum brakes and a front disc brake. The new Shine drum brake variant is priced at Rs 84,393 (ex-showroom, Delhi), while the disc brake variant is priced at Rs 89,245 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The primary rivals of Shine 125 in India are the TVS Radeon and Hero Super Splendor.

Our verdict
The Honda Shine has proven to be a reliable and capable commuter bike over the years. However, Honda has been trying to keep it relevant with mild features and colour updates for a long. It is high time that it received a thorough update for its design, features, and engine.
