The Hero Splendor, one of India’s most iconic commuter motorcycles, is set to receive a significant update for 2025. Spy images of the 2025 Hero Splendor Plus have surfaced, revealing the addition of a front disc brake. This marks a notable upgrade in the braking system, enhancing safety and performance for riders.
2025 Hero Splendor Plus – disc brake variant
The disc brake, likely a 240mm unit, is expected to offer improved stopping power compared to the current drum brake setup. This feature aligns the Splendor Plus with its XTEC Disc variant, which already includes a similar braking system. The rear, however, will continue to feature a drum brake.
New colours
In addition to the braking upgrade, the 2025 Splendor Plus will introduce new color options. These include a vibrant Candy Red shade with gold decals, reminiscent of the early 2000s model, and a premium Matte Grey finish with white accents. These updates aim to refresh the bike’s visual appeal while maintaining its commuter-friendly DNA.
2025 Hero Splendor Plus power and specifications
Mechanically, the Splendor Plus remains unchanged. Powering the new Splendor is the same 97.2cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. This engine produces 7.91 BHP and 8.05 Nm of torque, paired with a 4-speed gearbox. The bike will also meet the latest OBD2B compliance norms, ensuring better emissions control.
The suspension setup includes a telescopic fork at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear, offering a balanced ride quality. The updated model is likely to be priced slightly higher than the current top-spec variant, which is priced at INR 79,926 (ex-showroom). The new disc brake-equipped variant is expected to cost around INR 80,000.
Our thoughts
The addition of a front disc brake to the Hero Splendor Plus is a welcome update. It enhances the bike’s safety and aligns it with modern commuter motorcycle standards.
