- Citroen launches limited-run C3 Sport Edition with bold styling upgrades and segment-best performance
- New Garnet Red colour and exclusive sport-themed interiors introduced
- Still packs the most powerful engine in the segment with a true 6-speed torque converter automatic
Citroen India has rolled out the C3 Limited Sport Edition—an energetic new take on its well-known hatchback, adding sporty details, bold aesthetics, and a sprinkle of exclusivity. This limited-run variant adds a new visual identity to the C3 range while retaining its standout segment credentials.
Offered at a premium of ₹21,000 over the regular model, the Sport Edition is now available across Citroen dealerships in India. It also introduces a brand-new Garnet Red body colour—the first such update to the C3’s palette—alongside exclusive styling bits like ‘SPORT’ decals, ambient lighting, and a sporty pedal kit.
Inside the sporty cabin
The cabin gets a visible makeover too. There are exclusive seat covers, seatbelt cushions, and carpet mats, all designed around the ‘Sport’ theme. These touches build on the C3’s existing character, giving the driver and passengers a more vibrant cabin atmosphere.
Optional tech packs are also on offer, including a wireless charger and a dashcam, bundled together at ₹15,000. It’s a smart move, considering how entry-level buyers are becoming increasingly tech-savvy.
Under the hood
What hasn’t changed is what’s under the bonnet. The C3 Sport Edition comes with the segment’s most powerful 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine, producing 110 PS and 205 Nm of torque. It rockets from 0-100 km/h in just 10 seconds—faster than any rival in the hatchback space.
Transmission duties are handled by a smooth-shifting 6-speed torque converter automatic, which offers a proper two-pedal experience unlike many of its AMT-equipped rivals like the Tata Punch and Maruti Fronx.
Competitor check
While the C3 Sport Edition takes on rivals like the Tata Punch, Hyundai Exter, and Maruti Fronx, its biggest trump card remains the combination of a strong turbo motor and a real automatic transmission. On the feature front, it remains simple but now appeals to those wanting a sporty character without breaking the bank.
