2024 Renault Kiger – What’s New?

Written by Nizam Shaikh

The 2024 Renault Kiger is here in the Indian market with a starting price tag of INR 5.99 lakh ex-showroom. Here is what’s new on the 2024 Renault Kiger and how the new Kiger drives.

Exteriors Changes and Features

The 2024 Kiger features a new Stealth Black colour option and a new silver skid plate on the front bumper. This now resonates well with the silver skid plate on the rear which was available on the Kiger since its launch. However, one new feature which is available on the 2024 model is the chrome accent on the tailgate. The SUV also gets new sporty red brake callipers and auto folding ORVMs. The ORVMs also get a goodbye sequence. In addition to this, the Renault Kiger comes with features such as power bulges on the bonnet, chunky Renault logo on the front, Kiger branding on the rear with a large Renault logo, chrome accents on the grille, silver roof rails, a shark fin antenna and 16-inch dual tone alloy wheels.

Interior Changes and Features

The 2024 Renault Kiger not only comes with new features on the exteriors but its interiors have also been updated. The 2024 Kiger gets new dual tone semi leatherette seat upholstery, a new bezel-less IRVM with auto dimming function and new LED cabin lamps. In addition to this, the brand has also improved the safety of the 2024 Kiger by adding seat belt reminders for the rear seats and a take-a-break reminder that reminds the driver to take breaks while driving keeping them alert on the road. In addition to this, the Renault Kiger also comes with a 7-inch instruments cluster, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment screen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and wireless phone charging. The Kiger also comes with dual glove boxes with cooling function, automatic climate control AC, rear AC vents, air purifier, ambient lights, and a 405-litre large boot.

Engine and Drivability

The 2024 Renault Kiger we road tested came with a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbo-petrol engine. The engine develops 100 PS of power and 160 Nm of torque matched to a 5-speed manual transmission. While the engine has a punchy output, the clutch action is quite light but snatchy. However, roll on acceleration from the engine is quite good, you do feel the typical three-cylinder vibrations especially at idle. The suspension is firm which resulted in confident highway driving and minimised roll on long swooping corners. The 205 mm ground clearance helps the Kiger glide over potholes and speed breakers with ease and the disc/drum brake combination on the Kiger also feel sharp and offers a good bite and progression.

The 2024 Kiger is also available with a 1.0-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine that produces 72 PS of power and 96 Nm of torque. The engine comes with a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox option. The turbo-petrol, however, comes with an x-tronic CVT gearbox options in addition to its manual. The 2024 Kiger is also available in Radiant Red, Caspian Blue, Moonlight Silver, Ice Cool White, and Mahogany Brown in addition to the new Stealth Black colour.
