BMW India has launched the facelifted version of the Mini Cooper S at INR 44.90 lakh. This is one of the four new products BMW India launched today. The other products include the BMW 5 Series Long Wheel Base, the all-electric Mini Countryman SE and the BMW CE-04 electric scooter.
What’s New?
The Mini Cooper S gets significant updates over its predecessor. The front facia is now a little more hexagonal flanked by new circular headlamps. The 18-inch alloys too are different. The tail lights have been redesigned too but they still maintain the Union Jack element.
Inside the cabin, the Cooper S follows a very minimalist yet practical design. It gets a new 9.4-inch circular display which is a delight to look at. The new mini also gets heads up display, sporty vegan leather seats, and aircraft like toggle switches.
Powertrain
The Mini Cooper S is powered by a 2.0L turbocharged petrol engine that produces 201 hp power and 300 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a dual clutch automatic gearbox. This engine can propel the car from 0 to 100 kmph in just 6.6 seconds.
The car also gets level 1 ADAS, 6 airbags, and other electronic safety features.
Colours
The Cooper S is popular for its youthful and funky colour options. The 2024 version is no exception. It will be available in five colours which include Ocean Wave Green, Sunny Side Yellow, British Racing Green, Chilli Red II and Blazing Blue
Market Impact and Availability
The Mini Cooper S has always enjoyed exclusivity in its segment as it faces no direct competition. It is priced at INR 44.90 lakh ex-showroom and is available for booking at Mini dealerships and their official website starting today. Deliveries will begin next month i.e. September 2024.
