Morris Garages (MG), the British auto brand, has unveiled the MG Astor 2024, positioning it as India’s Most Advanced SUV in its class.
2024 MG Astor – What’s New?
The Astor 2024 packs an array of compelling features, including Ventilated Seats, a Wireless Charger, Wireless Android Auto & Apple Car Play, and Auto-dimming IRVM for added convenience.
The star of the show is the i-SMART 2.0, offering 80+ connected features. Notable among these is the JIO Voice Recognition system, enabling advanced voice commands for various functions, from weather updates to cricket scores. The Anti-Theft feature, coupled with Digital Key functionality, enhances security even without a network connection. The Advanced UI includes widget customization on the home screen with multiple pages and a unique Birthday Wish feature on the Head unit, customizable through the i-SMART mobile app.

The MG Astor marks a significant milestone as the first SUV in India to feature a personal AI assistant and 14 Autonomous Level 2 features. Equipped with mid-range radars and a multi-purpose camera, it boasts advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) capabilities. The Astor boasts 49 Top End Safety features, premium interiors, and a panoramic sunroof, elevating the driving experience.
The Astor 2024 will be available with 1.5 L and 1.3 L Turbo powertrains. The 1.5 L naturally aspirated 4-cylinder petrol engine makes 108 bhp and 144 Nm torque and comes mated to either a 5-speed manual or a CVT transmission. The 1.3 L turbo 3-cylinder petrol mill makes 138 bhp and 220 Nm torque and is mated to a 6-speed Torque Converter transmission. There is no change in the power output and the drivetrain of the Astor.
The Astor 2024 introduces new variants – Sprint, Shine, Select, Sharp Pro, and Savvy Pro, with prices starting at a competitive ₹9.98 lakh ex-showroom. The MG Astor competes with the Kia Seltos, VW Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, and the upcoming 2024 Hyundai Creta. Among these, the Kushaq and Taigun do not get ADAS features.
