Mercedes-Benz bhas unveiled the 2024 GLA and GLB. Both the crossovers now get more or less the same updates in terms of features. Some of these include new front facials, LED headlamps across the trims and more standard equipment.
What’s new in the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLA and GLB?
Mercedes-Benz now offers new grilles on both the crossovers. Further the GLB now gets a tough looking bumper with faux skid plates. Both cars now come in a new exterior shade of Spectral Blue metallic along with 18 and 20-inch alloys in new designs.
On the inside both the cars now get dual 10.25-inch screens on the dashboard. The infotainment gets wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The steering gets Nappa leather while the AMG line comes with heated steering as a first in both models.
Even the AMG trims are new. They get new front ends with the AMG logo now making its way to the bonnet. The cars get LED headlamps and tail lamps. On the inside the cars come with the latest AMG steering wheel along with the most recent version of the carmaker’s MBUX system.
Powertrain of the Mercedes-Benz GLA and GLB
The non-AMG variants like the GLA220, GLB250 4Matic, GLB 250 and GLB250 4Matic come with a 2.0-litre turbo petrol motor. This engine also gets a mild hybrid system that offers a 13 HP boost in some conditions. The overall system output of this powertrain is 221 HP and 350 Nm. The engine comes with a 2nd-generation starter-generator that is belt driven.
In the AMG trims, Mercedes-Benz offers a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder motor. This engine develops 302 HP and 400 Nm of peak torque. The 0-100 km/h times is around 5.1 seconds for the AMG GLA35 while the AMG GLB35 will take 5.4 seconds to the ton. Both cars will get an eight-speed dual clutch gearbox and all-wheel drive system standard. THe 13 HP boost from the starter-generator is also available.
Delivery timelines of the Mercedes-Benz GLA and GLB
The two cars are expected to first hit the North American market later this year. It will be followed up with other countries. The starting prices and other details are expected to be revealed closer to the launch.
