Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to launch the new-generation Dzire after the new Swift was launched a few months ago. The 2024 Dzire is expected to hit the market soon, with significant updates in design, features, and performance.
Design and Exterior
The new Dzire will be based on the Swift’s Heartech platform, ensuring a robust and lightweight structure. Spy images reveal that Maruti Suzuki has made several design tweaks to differentiate the Dzire from its hatchback sibling. The front grille now features prominent horizontal slats, replacing the Swift’s honeycomb design. The sedan will also sport redesigned headlights, bumpers, and a fresh set of alloy wheels. The rear end will see significant changes with a redesigned boot and new LED tail lamps.
Interior and Features
Inside, the Dzire will borrow design cues from the Swift, including a layered dashboard similar to the Baleno and S-Cross models. Maruti Suzuki is expected to equip the Dzire with a floating-type 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 360-degree camera. Notably, the Dzire will be the first sedan in its segment to offer a single-pane electric sunroof. Other features include six airbags, hill-hold assist, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), and a reverse parking camera.
Engine and Performance
Under the hood, the new Dzire will house a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder Z-series petrol engine, similar to the Swift. The engine is expected to produce around 80.4 bhp and 111.7 Nm of torque. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual and a 5-step AMT. While Maruti Suzuki has not disclosed the mileage figures yet, the Swift manual offers 24.8 kmpl, and the AMT version delivers 25.75 kmpl.
Launch and Pricing
The 2024 Maruti Suzuki Dzire is expected to debut in August, just in time for the festive season. The sedan will be available in multiple variants, with prices likely ranging from INR 6.70 lakh to INR 10 lakh (ex-showroom). Maruti Suzuki also plans to introduce a CNG variant shortly after the petrol model’s launch.
