Mahindra has officially announced that its upcoming model, the 2024 Mahindra XUV 3XO, will feature the largest sunroof in its segment. This feature sets the XUV 3XO apart from its competitors, including the Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, and Maruti Brezza, which currently only offer a single-pane sunroof.

A Panoramic View

The XUV 3XO will be the first sub-compact (under 4 meter length) SUV in India to feature a panoramic sunroof. Its predecessor, the Mahindra XUV300, was only available with a single-pane sunroof. The new dual-pane panoramic sunroof, dubbed as the “skyroof”, is expected to enhance the passenger experience by offering a more expansive view of the sky.

XUV 3XO: More Than Just a Big Sunroof

The 2024 Mahindra XUV 3XO is not just about the panoramic sunroof. The vehicle is set to undergo a comprehensive facelift, including exterior and interior upgrades. The latest teasers reveal that the XUV 3XO will also come equipped with a more premium 7-speaker Harman Kardon audio system. This is an upgrade from the 6-speaker sound system offered in the XUV300.

The XUV 3XO will also feature Mahindra’s AdrenoX connected car technology suite. This technology allows drivers to pre-cool the cabin before entering the car and remotely control the air conditioning.

Power and Performance

The XUV 3XO is expected to use the same engine and transmission options as the outgoing XUV300. These include a 1.2-litre turbo petrol, a 1.2-litre T-GDi (turbo-petrol), and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. The transmission options will include a six-speed manual and a six-speed AMT gearbox. However, the existing AMT transmission option could be replaced with a proper torque converter automatic transmission. This will put the XUV 3XO in direct competition with the automatic Venue and Sonet which come with a 7-speed DCT.

The Mahindra XUV 3XO is set to be unveiled on April 29th. The vehicle is expected to carry a slight premium over the outgoing XUV300 with prices starting from Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom).
