Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (HMIL) has officially opened bookings for the eagerly awaited new Hyundai Creta. Customers can secure their booking with an initial amount of ₹25,000 at any Hyundai Dealership across India or through the online booking portal. Existing Creta booking holders also have the option to convert their booking to the new Creta. The SUV will be launched on Jan 16.
Hyundai Creta – What’s New?
Built on Hyundai’s Global Design Language of ‘Sensuous Sportiness,’ the new Creta showcases a bolder stance. The new Creta has a commanding front look with a new radiator grille, upright hood design, new Horizon LED Positioning lamps & DRLs, and Quad-beam LED headlamps. The interior features advanced hi-tech elements, including an integrated infotainment screen and digital cluster for a futuristic and cockpit-like feel.
What’s good to see is that the new face-lifted model is nothing like the leaked images we have seen in the past and the models seen globally.
Powertrain
Engine options for the new Creta include the 1.5 L Kappa Turbo GDi Petrol, 1.5 L MPi Petrol, and 1.5 L U2 CRDi Diesel, catering to diverse customer preferences. Transmission options include 6-speed Manual, Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT), 7-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT), and 6-speed Automatic transmission. The DCT will be exclusive to the 1.5 L Kappa Turbo GDi Petrol while the 1.5 L MPi Petrol will get the option of the IVT. As for the 1.5 L U2 CRDi Diesel, there will be a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission.
The new Creta emphasizes safety with advanced active and passive features, available across 7 variants. It offers a choice of 6 mono-tone color options and 1 dual-tone option.
First launched in India in July 2015, the Hyundai Creta has consistently led the mid-size SUV segment for eight years. Despite increasing competition, Creta has maintained its segment leadership, boasting over 9.5 lakh customers.
We can expect the pricing of the new Creta to start at ₹10.99 L ex-showroom.
