2023 Tata Harrier SUV will get Jaguar F-Pace style gear selector

Written by AnantaSaranNayak

With multiple spy shots coming in, we are quite sure that Tata is up for something. We believe that the carmaker is working to launch an updated version of the SUV sometime soon. As of now,  the facelifted model’s test mules have been spied on multiple occasions. Now we have a new set of shots revealing the SUV’s interior.

What’s New With The Upcoming Harrier?

As per these latest images, the facelifted Harrier will now get a more modern steering wheel. We say this because the test mule got new steering-mounted controls. In fact, another key highlight is the fresh gear lever. This unit pretty much looks like the one we see in Jaguar F-Pace.  Apart from these two changes, we don’t see any more changes for the facelifted Tata SUV. The test mule spied on was seen with the same interior trim, i.e., brown upholstery on the dashboard. In fact, it has also got the electronic parking brake, digital driver’s display, and the 10.25-inch touchscreen system, from the 2023 Red Dark edition.

Changes We Expect On The Outside

As for the changes on the outside, the facelifted Harrier might get a host of design upgrades. On its front fascia, we could see a revised grille and new LED headlights. Very similar to how it is on the Harrier EV which we saw at the 2023 Auto Expo. We also expect the new Harrier to get a revised alloy wheel design and redone LED lighting at the back.

Features And Powertrain Details Of The Updated Harrier

Leaving the new touchscreen and digital driver’s display, the new Harrier might also benefit from a 360-degree camera. Alongside this, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) are also in the works which we saw with the Red Dark edition. Other features of the SUV include ventilated front seats, wireless phone charging and a panoramic sunroof. In terms of safety, we could get to see six airbags, an electronic stability program (ESP), ISOFIX child seat anchors, and reversing camera.

The facelifted Harrier will most likely continue with the same 2-litre diesel engine rated at 170PS and 350Nm. It comes with either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic gearbox. Interestingly enough, Tata might also offer it with the new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol unit with performance figures as 170PS and 280Nm. We saw this engine make its debut at the Auto Expo earlier this year.

Launch Timeline And Price Details

Tata could very well launch the facelifted Harrier sometime early next year. As for the price range, it will start in the range of INR 15 lakh (ex-showroom). Customers looking at the Harrier can also look at the MG Hector, Mahindra XUV700 and likes.
