2023 Tata Altroz CNG launched in India at INR 7.55 lakh

Tata Motors has launched India’s most feature rich CNG powered premium hatchback. The Tata Altroz iCNG variants have been priced at INR 7.55 lakh onwards, and for the CNG segment, the Altroz will get some segment best features. The Altroz iCNG is also the first in India to feature a twin-cylinder CNG setup in the boot, using up the spare wheel space and still allowing for a reasonable boot space.

Tata Altroz iCNG dual fuel premium hatchback will be sold in a total of 6 variants which includes XE, XM+, XM+ (S), XZ, XZ+ (S) & XZ+ O (S). Prices range from INR 7.55 lakh ex-showroom up to INR 10.55 lakh for the top trim. Tata is offering 3 years / 1,00,000 kms warranty on this powertrain option. Colour options for this version include blue, red, grey & white.

Tata Altroz iCNG Engine & Power:

Under the hood of the Altroz iCNG is a 1.2L, revotron petrol motor which produces 73.5 PS of peak power @ 6000 RPM and 103 Nm of peak torque @ 3500 RPM matched to a manual gearbox. The iCNG Altroz does not get an automatic option. This same 3-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol motor produces 88 PS power and 115 Nm torque. The unladen ground clearance is rated at 165mm and the CNG tanks have a total water capacity of 60L. The Altroz iCNG can start directly in CNG mode, can switch between fuel automatically, uses a single ECU, gets a modular fuel filter and also supports faster CNG refueling.

Tata Altroz iCNG Safety:

Tata Altroz is based on the ALFA platform and this hatch has received a 5-star Global NCAP crash test ssfety rating already. There’s a micro-switch in place which will keep the engine switched off during refueling process. In case of a thermal incident, the CNG supply would be cut off and the gas would be set out in open air. The CNG valves and pipes are protected under the load floor, so they can’t be easily damaged and the kit has placed using 6 mounting points.

The Tata Altroz iCNG comes with dual airbags, ABS with EBD, brake sway control and corner stability control.

Tata Altroz iCNG Features:

This is a premium hatchback, and it does get some premium features. The 2023 Tata Altroz iCNG comes kitted with voice assisted electric sunroof, air purifier, wireless charger, 8-speaker touchscreen infotainment which a colour display head unit, automatic climate control, rear AC vents, 16″ diamont cut alloy wheels, leatheratte seats, etc.
