2023 MotoGP race dates in India confirmed

Recently, Indian MotoGP fans rejoiced at the news of MotoGP coming to India. After a few initial rumours, the news was confirmed. Then came the official news. Dorna Sports, organiser of MotoGP, and Fairstreet Sports have signed an MoU for 7 years to bring the pinnacle of motorcycle racing to India. 

And right before the Thailand GP in Buriram, MotoGP also announced the provisional calendar for next year’s championship. This gives us an idea of when the races will be held. And more importantly, when all the motorcycle motorsports action will grace India.

2023 MotoGP Provisional Calendar Announced

For 2023, MotoGP will have even more races and countries than before. There will be a total of 21 races in 2023. For next year, MotoGP will also have a new season opener event at the Portuguese GP. This is scheduled for 24th to 26th of March 2023. This is also unlike most of the previous years where the Qatar GP has been the season opener. Here are all the provisional dates and events for the 2023 MotoGP Championship – 

  1. Portuguese GP – 24th to 26th March.
  2. Argentina GP – 31st to 2nd April.
  3. Americas GP – 14th to 16th April.
  4. Spanish GP – 28th to 30th April.
  5. French GP – 12th to 14th May.
  6. Italian GP – 9th to 11th July.
  7. German GP – 16th to 18th June.
  8. Dutch GP – 23rd to 25th June.
  9. Kazakhstan GP – 7th to 9th July.
  10. British GP – 4th to 6th August.
  11. Austrian GP – 18th to 20th August.
  12. Catalan GP – 1st to 3rd September.
  13. San Marino GP – 8th to 10th September.
  14. Indian GP – 22nd to 24th September.
  15. Japanese GP – 29th to 1st October.
  16. Indonesian GP – 13th to 15th October.
  17. Austrian GP – 20th to 22nd October.
  18. Thai GP – 27th to 19th October.
  19. Malaysian GP – 10th to 12th November.
  20. Qatar GP – 17th to 19th November.
  21. Valencia GP – 24th to 26th November.

2023 MotoGP Provisional Calender – Indian GP Details

The Indian GP, or “Grand Prix of Bharat”, will take place at the Buddh International Circuit, Greater Noida, between the 22nd and 24th of September 2023. However, since the track was initially planned for Formula 1, it is likely that it needs homologation and regulatory approvals for the MotoGP event. 

The Indian GP is not the only new track for 2023. The Kazakhstan GP will also make its debut in 2023. The 2023 season of MotoGP is set to have the highest number of races and participating countries ever. Thus, it will be a season that MotoGP fans can’t afford to miss.
