2023 MG Hector Facelift with ADAS – Preview

MG Motor has unveiled the Hector facelift. As expected, the car gets a revised exterior and interior. Mechanically, the car has stayed the same. It continues to be offered with the same powertrain options.

On the outside, the new chrome grille is the most prominent change. The large grille comes with chrome inserts. There is also a large MG logo in the middle. The Hector also gets slim LED DRLs at the top while the main headlamps and the fogs have been positioned down below in the bumper.

Coming to the rear, the car now gets a full-width lightbar. Down below, it gets a chrome stripe running across the width of the boot and gets Hector lettering below it.

Inside, there are significant feature changes. This includes a large 14-inch touchscreen infotainment, a new design dashboard, a 3-spoke multi-steering wheel and a digital instrument cluster for the driver. MG offers 5, 6 and 7 seat variants of Hector in India.

Other features on the new car include advanced connected technology, a 4-way electrically adjustable passenger seat, an automatic powered tailgate, an HD quality 360-degree camera, voice-activated LED ambient lights, intelligent turn indicators and autonomous level 2 ADAS features with traffic jam assist.

ADAS features 2023 MG Hector

One of the most talked about features on the 2023 Hector’s feature list is the Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Like its sibling, the Gloster, the SUV now comes with features like lane keep assist, forward collision warning, emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assist and high beam assist.

Powertrain options on the 2023 Hector

The engine options on the 2023 MG Hector will remain the same as per the current car. These include a 1.5-litre turbo petrol, a mild hybrid version of the 1.5-litre petrol and a 2.0-litre diesel engine. The petrol motor puts out 143 PS and 250 Nm of peak torque, while the 2.0-litre diesel engine churns out 170 PS and 350 Nm of torque. Both engines will be offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox while the petrol gets an optional CVT gearbox.
