Written by AnantaSaranNayak

KTM is keen on expanding its range of motorcycles in India. In line with this, the motorcycle maker has brought in the 390 Adventure X for the Indian market. This all-new bike is more of a  pocket-friendly version of the KTM 390 Adventure. The KTM 390 Adventure X model will retail with a price tag of INR 2.80 lakh (ex-showroom). This is a good INR 58,000 cheaper than the KTM 390 Adventure. The latter retails with a price tag of INR 3.38 lakh (ex-showroom).

Demand For Off-Road Segment Motorcycles On The Rise

We are aware of the fact that the segment of on/off road is growing. The demand is on the rise as more and more motorcycle enthusiasts are making their move towards this segment. All in all, adventure-oriented motorcycles are a significant segment in the Indian market. In fact, it is worth noting that during FY23, KTM gained a 60 per cent surge in KTM Adventure customer participation in KTM Pro-XP. This is more exciting because over 50 per cent of the participants are new customers. This pretty much indicates a growing demand for Adventure-based motorcycling amongst consumers.

Engine And Mechanicals

KTM 390 Adventure X uses the same 390cc motor. This motor makes 43.5 BHP of power output and a torque of 37 Nm. The engine is matched to a six-speed gearbox equipped with a slip and assists clutch. Customers can have the motorcycle in two colour variants. These are, namely, Electronic Orange and Dark Galvano.

Key Features On Offer

With the new motorcycle, KTM has removed some of the features. This includes traction control, a quick shifter, and the TFT display with smartphone connectivity. This is pretty much understandable given the lower price tag. The KTM 390 Adventure X comes equipped with a dual-channel ABS with off-road mode. The motorcycle also benefits from a split trellis frame.

The motorcycle gets a ground clearance of 200mm. Braking power comes from 320mm front and 230mm rear disc brakes. In terms of suspension, it comes with a 43mm WP Apex USD fork and rear monoshock.  KTM does not equip the TFT screen, instead, we find an LCD display with the KTM Adventure X.
