The world is ready for the launch of the Hyundai Sedan. Verna has been a key offering from HMIL. With the updated Verna, it will retail with a price tag of INR 10.89 lakh (ex-showroom).
New Hyundai Verna Features On Offer
The new Verna sports an integrated, dual-screen set-up. This is very similar to the one we see on the Ioniq 5. Other than that the sedan also gets two 10.25-inch screens – one for the infotainment system and the other for the digital instrument cluster. The next-gen Verna also benefits from an 8-speaker system tuned by Bose. This is very similar to all other Hyundai and Kia models and thus replaces the Arkamys sound module.
Furthermore, the new Verna also gets benefits from a host of segment-first features. This includes a switchable unit for controlling the infotainment system and HVAC and heated seats. The upcoming Verna will continue to get ventilated front seats, as was the case with the outgoing model.
New Hyundai Verna Bigger Than Before
In terms of dimensions, the new Hyundai Verna will measure 4,535mm in length, 1,765mm in width and 1,475mm in height. Thus making it longer and wider than the outgoing model. Noteworthy to mention, its height remains the same. The sedan will also have a 528-litre boot, which is 50 litres more than the outgoing model.
New Hyundai Verna Powertrain Options
Hyundai Verna will come with two 1.5-litre petrol engines. First, is the 115 HP naturally aspirated (NA) unit and second is the 160 HP turbocharged unit. The former is only available with lower variants, while the latter will serve the higher variants. While both engines will come with manual and automatic options. The standard gearbox is a 6-speed manual gearbox. Then the NA unit will get a CVT and the turbo-petrol will get a DCT as an option.
Safety And Tech At Its Core
Hyundai’s all-new Verna will come equipped with ADAS Level 2 features. Under the Hyundai SmartSense suite, the sedan will get front and rear radar-based ADAS features. Safety features from ADAS include a slew of services. This includes forward collision warning, forward collision avoidance assist, blind spot collision warning, lane keeping assist, blind spot collision avoidance assist, lane departure warning, driver attention warning and safe exit warning.
Customers also get ADAS convenience features that include adaptive cruise control, lane following assist, high beam assist and lead vehicle departure alert. ADAS parking safety features will include features like rear cross-traffic collision warning & avoidance assist.
Key Safety Features
Hyundai’s new Verna will come with 6-airbags as a standard fitment. Other safety features include electronic stability control, VSM, hill start assist control, all-four disc brakes, electric park brake, and front and rear parking sensors. Then we also have electrochromic mirror, cornering lamps, tyre pressure monitoring systems, and 3-point seat belts for all occupants. The driver will also appreciate the addition of speed & impact-sensing door locks, ABS with EBD, automatic headlamp, keyless entry, lane change indicator and much more.
New Hyundai Verna Avaibale Variants
The next-gen Verna will come with four trims – EX, S, SX and SX (O). Once launched, it will rival the likes of facelifted Honda City, Volkswagen Virtus, Skoda Slavia and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.
