Honda has launched the 2023 Unicorn in India. The motorbike is now OBD 2 compliant and the price of this bike is set at INR 1,09,800 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Compared to the outgoing model, the new bike is dearer by INR 4,100.
What’s new in the 2023 Honda Unicorn?
Visually, there are no changes to the Unicorn. However, all the updates are done to the engine to ensure compatibility with latest emission norms. Hence, the bike is now BS 6, Stage II norms ready.
The 2023 Honda Unicorn continues to be offered in 4 paint options. These include Pearl Igneous Black, Imperial Red Metallic, Mat Axis Gray Metallic and Pearl Siren Blue.
Coming to numbers, the Honda Unicorn has a 1,335 mm wheelbase with 187 mm of ground clearance. The seat height is set at 798 mm. The kerb weight of the bike is 140 kg. In terms of brakes, Honda has equipped the 2023 Unicorn with 240 mm front disc and 130 mm rear drum brakes. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic front suspension and a monoshock at the back.
Powertrain of the 2023 Honda Unicorn
The new Honda Unicorn retains the 162.7 cc single cylinder engine. The OBD2 compliant PGM-FI motor develops 12.9 PS @ 7,500 rpm and 14 Nm @ 5,500 rpm. Power is sent to the rear wheel via a 5-speed gearbox and chain drive.
Upto 10 year warranty on 2023 Honda Unicorn
Honda is now offering upto 10 year warranty on the motorbike. The Japanese bike maker will offer 3 years of standard warranty which can be extended till 10 years by the owner.
This same 10-year warranty has also been offered on the recently launched Honda Dio scooter. Until now, such long warranties on two wheelers was unheard of in the Indian market. These are expected to enhance customer confidence in the product. Further, the warranty also offers a distinction to Honda that other manufacturers don’t offer such warranties.
