2023 Honda Accord sedan revealed, 11th generation

Honda has unveiled the 11th generation Accord sedan. This time around, the car looks much more pleasing to the eyes with a more conservative design than the outgoing version.

Design of the 2023 Honda Accord

At the front, the new Accord gets a black mesh grilled with LED headlamps on both sides. There is a large curvy bumper as well which gets a wide air intake/ The bonnet looks larger than the outgoing model and the sides get a subdued crease line. The glass area remains large with a c-shaped quarter glass behind the rear doors.

At the back, there is a big change compared to the traditional Honda design. It now gets slim LED tail lights that extend towards the centre of the bootlid. The Accord also gets an integrated lip spoiler.

The car measures 4,971 mm long, 1,862 mm wide and 1,450 mm tall with a wheelbase of 2,830 mm. It is slightly longer than the outgoing car.

The Honda Accord is offered in 3 trims – the standard, sport trims and the top end Touring version. Honda has offered 17-19 inch alloy wheels as an option across the trims. The Sport trim gets a black diffuser with 19-inch black alloys.

The insides get a Civic-esque treatment. There is a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster along with a 7-inch infotainment display that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Higher end trims get a larger 12.3 inch infotainment system that supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The Airvents are concealed and there is ample piano black trim on the inside. Honda has also used premium soft touch materials at touchpoints. The legroom has also increased and the boot space is now 473 litres.

Engine details of the 20234 Honda Accord

Honda is offering a turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that gets a new VTEC technology, a revised direct injection, a new cold active catalyst, a high rigidity crankshaft and a new-design crankshaft that reduces engine noise. Spec-wise, the engine puts out 192 HP and 260 Nm of torque. 

This engine has been paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). It gets a step-shift that simulated gear changes at full throttle.

There is also a 2.0-litre Atkinson cycle, Naturally Aspirated petrol engine paired with a dual motor hybrid system. The total output of this is rated at 204 HP and 335 Nm of torque.
