2022 Volkswagen Virtus sedan revealed, pre-bookings open

Volkswagen has revealed the much-awaited premium mid-size sedan the Virtus in the Indian market. The German brand has also announced that the pre-launch bookings for the Volkswagen Virtus have also commenced in India. The new Volkswagen Virtus shares its MQB-A0-IN platform with the Skoda Slavia, which was recently launched in the Indian market.

2022 Volkswagen Virtus Sedan – Powertrain

The Volkswagen Virtus comes with two engines and three gearbox options. Powering the Volkswagen Virtus is a 1.0-litre three-cylinder TSI petrol engine. The engine produces 115 PS of power and 178 Nm of torque. The engine is available with a 6-speed manual transmission and a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Another option is a powerful 1.5-litre EVO four-cylinder TSI petrol engine. The engine produces 150 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque. The motor comes paired to a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission. The 1.5-litre EVO TSI engine also comes with active cylinder cut-off technology. Volkswagen also claims that the 1.5-litre TSI EVO is engineered to provide power on demand with maximum efficiency.

2022 Volkswagen Virtus Sedan – Colour Options and Dimensions

The Volkswagen Virtus sedan comes with six colour options – Wild Cherry Red, Carbon Steel Grey, Rising Blue, Candy White, Reflex Silver, Curcuma Yellow. The Volkswagen Virtus measures 4561mm in length, 1752mm in width, 1507mm in height and comes with a wheelbase of 2651mm.

On the outside, the new Volkswagen Virtus features a limousine-like stretched look. The limo look gives the Virtus premium and definitive presence on the road. The car also gets sharp shoulder lines that reverberate with the vehicle’s performance. In the sporty GT avatar, the Virtus also comes with ‘Razor’ Glossy Black alloy wheels, GT Badges, red brake callipers, black roof, an aerodynamic spoiler, aluminium pedals etc. The Virtus also features a chrome grille, window sills, bumper elements and door handles.

On the inside, the Virtus comes with features such as a multi-layered dashboard with body-coloured accents and chrome trims. The car also comes with Leather + Leatherette seat upholstery and features such as ventilated front seats. Volkswagen also offers a 25.65-cm large touchscreen infotainment system, with Wireless App Connect – Android Auto and Apple Carplay, as well as wireless mobile charging. The car also gets automatic climate control, multifunction steering wheel, digital instruments cluster, KESSY keyless entry etc.

The Volkswagen Virtus sedan comes with safety features such as 6-airbags, electronic stability control, multi-collision brakes, LED headlamp + DRLs, split LED taillamps, reversing camera etc.
