Toyota has revealed the new Corolla Cross in the North American market. The 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross is based on the Toyota Corolla sedan in a new crossover avatar. The bold compact crossover carries the legacy of the ‘Corolla’ nameplate, which offers dependability, fuel efficiency, safety and value. Toyota will be offering the new Corolla Cross in three trims – L, LE, and XLE. The brand boasts that the Corolla Cross features a spacious, contemporary and high-quality design.
Design & Styling
Underpinning the Toyota Corolla Cross is a TNGA-C platform featuring a high-line-of-sight and robust exteriors. The SUV features a gloss black finish grille flanked by LED lights and black body accents. This imposing yet sleek front fascia gives the Corolla Cross a confident and robust stance. The SUV features distinct character lines around the wheel arches that make them appear wider, and the trapezoidal wheel arches, along with black cladding, give the SUV a strong character. On the rear, the Corolla Cross gets a wraparound taillamp with LEDs and an integrated spoiler. The compact crossover also comes with 17-inch steel on the L trim and 18-inch alloy on the XLE variant.
Corolla Cross Interiors
The 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross comes with single- or dual-zone automatic climate control and air conditioning vents for rear-seat passengers. The SUV is also available in SofTex-trimmed seating and power-adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar and heated front seats. The second row also features 60/40-split folding, while the top-spec variant features a centre armrest with two cupholders. The Corolla Cross is also available with a roof rack and crossbars and a height-adjustable electric tailgate.
Comfort and Convenience
The 2022 Corolla Cross features a 7-inch Multi-Information Display with digital instrumentation and an 8-inch multimedia touchscreen. The Corolla Cross also gets connected functionalities along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. The car also features wireless smartphone charging as standard on LE and XLE. Also available is an Audio Plus multimedia with Remote Connect and a nine-speaker JBL sound system. Features also include Amazon Alexa connectivity and a standard three-month SiriusXM All Access trial subscription.
2022 Toyota Corolla Cross Engine Specifications
Powering the Corolla Cross is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder Dynamic Force engine. The petrol engine makes 169 Hp of power and features a Direct Shift CVT from Corolla sedan’s sportier “S” grades. The Corolla Cross is available in front-wheel-driven and an all-wheel-drive model, which features a fully independent suspension. The Corolla Cross comes with a towing capacity of up to 1,500 lbs.
