The 2022 Toyota Prius Nightshade is here. The stealthy looking hybrid will surely grab your attention with its multiple black inserts. This edition is available in three colours, Super White, Silver Metallic and Midnight Black Metallic. But, from the images, it is pretty clear that the Midnight Black Metallic will complement this edition the best. Toyota is using black inserts at the headlight accents, door handles and mirror caps. This new 2022 Toyota Prius is available in two layouts, front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive. Prius is also the first hybrid model in Toyota’s lineup to get this special Nightshade edition.
Toyota Prius – More About This New Nightshade Edition
This hybrid sedan comes with 17-inch five-spoke alloys for the front-wheel-drive model; meanwhile, the all-wheel-drive version gets the multi-spoke 15-inch ones. Both the alloys get a dark finish along with black inserts for the lug nuts. On the inside, the centre console gets a semi-gloss treatment that matches the black exterior inserts. The black seats are power-adjustable for both versions. But the FWD drive version gets eight-way adjustable as compared to AWD’s six-way unit. The heated steering wheel is standard in both versions.
Other interior pieces of equipment include a 7.0-inch infotainment system with a six-speaker JBL stereo setup, wireless charging, voice recognition and more. Customers also get a one-year complimentary Toyota Safety Connect along with a 10-year Service Connect trial.
Toyota Prius – Engine And Powertrain Options
Toyota Prius uses a hybrid-assisted 1.8-litre four-cylinder motor that makes 121 HP of power. There’s an additional electric motor at the rear in the AWD layout, which produces 7 HP of power and 56 Nm of torque. Prius also comes with a host of safety features like bicyclist detection, lane departure alert, rear-cross traffic alert, blind-spot detection, low-light pedestrian detection, pre-collision system and intelligent parking assistance. As it stands, the 2022 Prius Nightshade will hit the US market this upcoming fall. Toyota has not yet talked anything about the price; hence we can not comment on the same as of yet.
