2022 Tata Tigor.ev with 315 km range launched at INR 12,49,00

Tata Motors has revealed the updated Tigor EV for the domestic market. The car now gets an extended range of 315 km as per ARAI.

What’s new in the 2022 Tata Tigor.ev

In terms of features, the car now gets leather upholstery for the seats along with leather wrapped steering wheel. It also gets rain sensing wipers, automatic wipers and cruise control. Apart from these, Tata has also added a new exterior paint shade called as the Magnetic Red.

At the launch event, Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd commented that as per Tata’s New Forever philosophy, it was time to upgrade the Tigor EV with more features. He also revealed that they had gathered customer driving pattern data from over 600 million km. This distance covered on Indian roads made them tweak the car to deliver maximum efficiency and thereby range.

New Smart Enhancements for the 2022 Tata Tigor.ev

Apart from the aforementioned features, the car also now gets multi-mode regen, connected car technology (Zconnect), smartwatch connectivity, iTPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System) and Tyre Puncture Repair Kit as standard.

For existing Tigor EV owners, Tata has announced a free of cost upgrade package that will enable features like the multi-mode regen, iTPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System) and Tyre Puncture Repair Kit. Meanwhile those having the Tigor XZ+ and XZ+ DT variants can also get a smartwatch connectivity upgrade. This update will be available from December 20, 2022 onwards.

The new Tigor EV comes with a 26 kWh liquid-cooled high energy density IP67-rated Li-ion battery pack. Along with the electric motor, it produces a maximum power output of 55 kW along with a peak torque of 170 Nm.

Pricing of the 2022 Tata Tigor.ev

The 2022 Tata Tigor.ev is priced at INR 12.49 lakh for the XE trim, INR 12.99 lakh for mid XT variant, INR 13.49 lakh for the XZ+ and INR 13.75 lakh for the XZ+ LUX variant. All prices are ex-showroom.

Tata’s EV onslaught

Recently, Tata also launched the Tiago EV. It has received over 20,000 bookings for the car in just one month since launch. Tata has sold over 50,000 units of the Nexon EV and currently has a 89% market share on YTD basis.
