2022 Tata Altroz DCA automatic launched at INR 8.09 lakh

Tata Motors recently announced that the brand has commenced accepting bookings for the new Altroz DCA. The Tata Altroz DCA comes with a new Dual Clutch Automatic transmission that offers the best performance for tackling Indian driving conditions. Furthermore, the brand revealed that interested buyers could book the Altroz DCA for INR 21,000 by visiting their nearest Tata Motors authorised dealership. Tata also boasts the new wet clutch transmission, offering a seamless driving experience and setting the Gold Standard for automatics offered within the segment.

2022 Tata Altroz DCA – Price, Variants and Colours

The brand is offering five standard variants of the Altroz DCA – XMA+, XTA, XZA, XZA(o) and XZA+. Tata will be offering the entry-level XMA+ variant at the price tag of INR 8,09,900 ex-showroom. The XTA comes with a price tag of INR 8,59,900 ex-showroom. The XZA variant comes with a sticker price of INR 9,09,900 ex-showroom. The XZA (o) comes with a price tag of INR 9,21,900 ex-showroom, and the XZA+ comes with a price tag of INR 9,59,900 ex-showroom. The brand is also offering two #Dark variants of the Altroz DCA. The Altroz DCA XTA Dark comes with a price tag of INR 9,05,900 ex-showroom, and the XZA+ Dark comes with a price tag of INR 9,89,900 ex-showroom. 

The Tata Altroz DCA comes with Downtown Red, Arcade Grey, Avenue White and Harbour Blue colour options. For the DCA variant, the brand has also launched a special Opera Blue colour. The car is also available in the Cosmo Dark colour specially formulated for the Dark Edition Altroz DCA.

2022 Tata Altroz DCA – Engine Specifications

Powering the Tata Altroz DCA is a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder, naturally-aspirated motor. The engine produces 86 PS of power and 113 Nm of torque. The DCA is the world’s first transmission with planetary gearbox and liquid cooling. The DCA also comes with 35% fewer mechanical components and features only one layshaft. This makes it more reliable and offers better shift quality.

Tata is also using a new design with separated clutch plates that reduces the heating and makes it less prone to failure. Thanks to this, the DCA boasts to be much more reliable than conventional DCTs, especially in the Indian terrain and weather conditions. The transmission also comes with shift-by-wire and machine learning technology that is able to detect drivers of the same car optimize the drive accordingly.

The DCA transmission also comes with safety features like Auto Park and also comes with standard filters to trap dust. However, the DCA also comes with self-healing technology that removes dust particles as small as 10 microns from the filter. The gearbox can also self-detect any malfunction and activate vibrators in the valves, and accelerated oil pressured to clears the valves choked by dust. 

The Tata Altroz also comes with a 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol motor that makes 110 PS of power and 140 Nm of torque. But the brand only offers a 5-speed manual transmission on this engine. Diesel enthusiasts also get a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine. The engine produces 90 PS of power and 200 Nm of torque and comes matched only to a 5-speed manual transmission.

2022 Tata Altroz DCA – Safety and Features

The Tata Altroz DCA is based on the ALFA (Agile Light Flexible Advanced) architecture with a Global NCAP crash rating of a full 5 stars. The Altroz DCA also comes with the latest in comfort and convenience features such as automatic headlamps, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, semi-digital instruments cluster, iRA connected car technology.
