2022 Suzuki V-Strom SX 250 Review

Suzuki recently launched its smallest sports adventure touring motorcycle, the V-Strom SX 250, in the Indian market. The Japanese brand claims the V-Strom SX 250 is a “Master of all Adventures”. The V-Strom SX 250 also marks Suzuki’s entry into the 250cc adventure touring segment in the country. With the new model, Suzuki now has two V-Strom models in India – the V-Strom SX 250 and its bigger sibling, the V-Strom 650XT. 

2022 Suzuki V-Strom SX 250 – Price and Colours 

Suzuki’s latest motorcycle is only available in one variant. The quarter-litre sports adventure tourer retails at INR 2,13,272 ex-showroom Mumbai. As for the colour options, the V-Strom SX 250 is available in three of them. These colour options are – Pearl Blaze Orange, Champion Yellow No. 2 and Glass Sparkle Black. 

2022 Suzuki V-Strom SX 250 – Engine & Gearbox

Powering the V-Strom SX 250 is a 249cc single-cylinder 4-stroke engine. The bike also features Suzuki Oil Cooling System (SOCS). The feature made its debut with the Suzuki Gixxer 250 and Gixxer 250 SF. The V-Strom SX 250 shares the same engine as these bikes. The SOCS circulates engine oil around the motor and the cylinder head. This is similar to a water-cooled engine. However, it also keeps the weight in check. The motor produces 26.5 PS of power at 9300 rpm and 22.2 Nm of torque at 7300 rpm. The engine is paired to a 6-speed constant-mesh gearbox.

The Suzuki V-Strom SX 250 comes with a LED headlight and taillight, and knuckle guards. The bike also sports a beak design at the front. The instrument cluster is a full-digital unit and also features Suzuki Ride Connect. This enables alerts for incoming calls, SMS and even WhatsApp messages. As for convenience, the V-Strom SX 250 includes Suzuki’s one-touch Easy Start System. It also has an illuminated USB outlet to charge your smartphone. 

2022 Suzuki V-Strom SX 250 – Dimensions & Suspension

The V-Strom SX 250 measures 2,180 mm in length, 880 mm in width and 1,355 mm in height. The wheelbase of the motorcycle is 1,440 mm. To tackle Indian roads comfortably and for mild off-roading, the bike has a ground clearance of 205 mm. The seat height is 835 mm, and it tips the scales at 167 kg. The V-Strom SX 250 has a fuel tank capacity of 12 litres.

As for the suspension, it uses conventional telescopic forks at the front. At the same time, the rear uses a swingarm-mounted monoshock. The V-Strom SX 250 rides on a 19-inch front and a 17-inch rear tyre with dual-sport tyres. The V-Strom SX 250 uses a 100/90 section tyre at the front and a 140/70 section tyre at the rear. The braking setup consists of disc brakes at both ends. Furthermore, it also gets dual-channel ABS as standard.
