Skoda launched the new premium mid-size sedan Slavia in the Indian market starting with a price tag of INR 10.69 lakh ex-showroom. The new sedan is based on the Volkswagen Group’s MQB-A0-IN platform which is the Indianised version of the MQB (Modularer Querbaukasten) which translates to Modular Transverse Matrix. Skoda Slavia – Variants and Price
Slavia 1.0-litre TSI
The Skoda Slavia comes with three variants – Active, Ambition and Style. The top-spec style variant also comes with a Sunroof model. The Active trim starts at INR 10.69 lakh ex-showroom. The Ambition trim comes with a sticker price of INR 12.39 lakh ex-showroom for the manual and INR 13.59 lakh ex-showroom for the automatic. The non-sunroof version is available only in the manual transmission and comes at INR 13.59 lakh ex-showroom. While the Style variant with Sunroof comes with a price tag of INR 13.99 lakh ex-showroom for the manual and INR 15.39 lakh ex-showroom.
Slavia 1.5-litre TSI
The Skoda Slavia with the 1.5-litre TSI EVO engine is only available in the top-spec Style trim. The manual transmission version comes with a price tag of INR 16.19 lakh ex-showroom, while the DSG automatic variant comes with a price tag of INR 17.79 lakh ex-showroom.
Skoda Slavia – Engine and Gearbox
Powering the Skoda Slavia is a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbo TSI petrol engine from the Volkswagen Group. The engine produces 115 PS of power and 178 Nm of torque paired to a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. Skoda claims that the front-wheel-drive Slavia is capable of sprinting from 0-100 kmph in just 10.7 seconds and also returns a fuel efficiency of up to 19.47 kmpl.
The Skoda Slavia also comes with an advanced 1.5-litre EVO-generation TSI four-cylinder turbo petrol engine. The engine produces 150 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed manual or 7-speed DSG automatic transmission. The powerful engine features a variable vane geometry turbocharger and a segment-first ACT (Active Cylinder Technology) that allows the engine to automatically shut down two cylinders under a low load. Thanks to this the engine is not only powerful but also efficient and claims to return a fuel efficiency of up to 18.72 kmpl. The Slavia with a 1.5-litre TSI EVO engine can sprint from 0-100 kmph in just 8.8 seconds.
