2022 Mercedes-Benz Citan shares a lot with the Renault Kangoo

On 25th August, Mercedes-Benz unveiled the Citan multipurpose van in the international market. The 2022 Citan is the last new vehicle project for commercial customers at Mercedes-Benz Vans. The brand has announced that all new future developments will exclusively be available with an electric drive. Hence, the logical evolution in the van segment will be the eCitan.

2022 Mercedes-Benz Citan – Design Highlights

The current van balanced proportions in the design department and functional interior space. Underlining the power and emotive feel of the van are the sleek fascia, muscular shoulders and prominent wheel arches. The front fascia clearly brings hallmark Mercedes-Benz styling featuring the three-pointed star in the centre and horizontal slats on the radiator grille. The van also comes with sleek headlamps and a wide air dam.

On the inside, the Citan van comes with a horizontal shape instruments panel with analogue instruments and a digital MID. The van also has a floating touchscreen infotainment system, climate control air conditioning, and a dark interior theme that helps keep things clean and tidy. The van also features a practical storage compartment for rapid access to important utensils.

2022 Mercedes-Benz Citan – Dimensions

The 2022 Mercedes-Benz Citan shares its underpinnings with the Renault Kangoo. The doors and glasshouse appear similar to the Renault Kangoo but features redesigned front and rear ends. In terms of size, the Citan measures 4498 mm in length, 2716 mm of wheelbase and a load compartment length is 3.05 metres. The load compartment also comes with a flexible partition wall.

2022 Mercedes-Benz Citan – Engine Specifications

Powering the Mercedes-Benz Citan is a Euro6d compliant 1.5-litre four-cylinder diesel engine that comes in three states of tune. The brand offers a 75 Hp/230 Nm, a 95 Hp/260 Nm and a 116 Hp/270 Nm output oil motor. The brand offers a 1.4-litre four-cylinder engine in the petrol avatar that comes in two states of tune. A 102 Hp/200 Nm and a 131 Hp/240 Nm output motor.
