Maruti Suzuki has just introduced the all-new 2022 Brezza. The latest entrant to the compact SUV segment from Maruti Suzuki aims to repeat the same success story as its predecessor. For 2022, Maruti Suzuki has decided to drop the Vitara moniker and name it just the Brezza. The new model is larger, has a different exterior and interior design and packs a lot of new features.
On the other hand, we have the 2022 Hyundai Venue facelift. Though not as big of an update as the Brezza gets, it still features styling tweaks and a host of segment-first features. The 2022 Venue also brings updates to its interiors.

2022 Maruti Suzuki Brezza Vs. Hyundai Venue – Variants and Price
Maruti Suzuki Brezza
The 2022 Maruti Suzuki Brezza is available in a total of 4 variants – LXI, VXI, ZXI and ZXI+. There is only one engine option on offer. However, the VXI, ZXI and ZXI+ variants are available with an automatic transmission.
The pricing starts at INR 7,99,000 ex-showroom for the LXI MT. The mid-level variant, VXI, costs INR 9,46,500 for the manual and INR 10,96,500 ex-showroom for the automatic. Next, the ZXI manual variant costs INR 10,86,500 and the ZXI automatic variant costs INR 12,36,500. Meanwhile, the top-of-the-line variants, ZXI+ MT and ZXI+ AT cost INR 12,30,000 and INR 13,80,000 ex-showroom. The ZXI and ZXI+ variants are also available with a dual-tone colour option for INR 16,000 extra.
Hyundai Venue
Unlike the 2022 Brezza, the Hyundai Venue has a host of engine and transmission options and comes in more variants. The 2022 Hyundai Venue is available with 1.2-litre petrol, 1.0-litre turbo-petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine. Furthermore, there are a total of four transmission options. There are a total of six variants – E, S, S+, S (O), SX and SX (O).
Pricing starts at INR 7.53 lakh for the E 1.2 MT and tops at INR 12.57 lakh ex-showroom for the 1.0 SX (O) DCT variant. The 1.2-litre petrol is available in S, S (O) and SX variants and costs INR 8.7 lakh, INR 9.5 lakh and INR 10.96 lakh, respectively.
The pricing for both the diesel and turbo-petrol models start at INR 9.99 lakh ex-showroom. The transmission options for the turbo-petrol include a 6-speed iMT and a 7-speed DCT. The turbo-petrol manual is available in two variants – S (O) and SX (O) and costs INR 9.99 lakh and INR 11.92 lakh ex-showroom. The turbo-petrol automatic is also available in the same variants and costs INR 10.96 lakh for the S (O) and INR 12.57 lakh ex-showroom for the SX (O).
Meanwhile, the diesel is available in three variants – S+, SX and SX (O). The prices for these diesel variants are INR 9.99 lakh, INR 11.42 lakh and INR 12.32 lakh ex-showroom, respectively.
2022 Maruti Suzuki Brezza Vs. Hyundai Venue – Powertrain
Powering the new 2022 Maruti Suzuki Brezza is a K-Series 1.5-litre petrol engine with Smart Hybrid Technology. This motor churns out 102 HP and 137 Nm of torque. The same engine also does duty in the XL6 and Ertiga. There are two gearbox options available – a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
On the other hand, the Venue comes with three engine options – 1.2-litre MPi petrol, 1.0-litre T-GDI petrol and 1.5-litre CRDi diesel. The naturally-aspirated 1.2-litre petrol makes 83 PS of power and 113.8 Nm of torque. It is only available with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The other petrol, 1.0-litre T-GDI, uses a three-cylinder engine but gets a turbocharger. Thus, it produces 120 PS of power and 172 Nm of torque. The turbo-petrol is available with two gearbox options – a 6-speed intelligent manual transmission (iMT) and a 7-speed Dual-Clutch Transmission (DCT).
Unlike the Brezza, the Venue offers more choice by also offering a diesel engine option. The 1.5-litre CRDi diesel in the Venue makes 100 PS of power and 240 Nm of torque. It is only available with a 6-speed manual transmission.
2022 Maruti Suzuki Brezza Vs. Hyundai Venue – Dimensions
The 2022 Maruti Suzuki Brezza measures 3,995 mm in length, 1,790 mm in width and 1,685 mm in height. The wheelbase stands at 2,500 mm. The Brezza offers a boot space of 328 litres.
Meanwhile, the Hyundai Venue, at 3,995 mm, has the same length as the Brezza. However, with 1,770 mm width and 1,617 mm height, it is both narrower and shorter. The wheelbase of 2,500 mm is also identical to the Brezza.
